Date: Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th May 2013

Destination: Weekend Away to BOBS SHED Motoring Museum, Quirindi

Status: Confirmed

Distance: 326 kms / 4 hours 5 minutes total driving time (plus 2 rest stops).

First Meeting Point: Thornleigh McDonalds.

Meeting Time: Saturday 25th May 7:30am for coffee.

Departure Time: 8:00am sharp!

Second Meeting Point: Arrive at the rear of the twin Service Station F3 northbound at Warnervale (in the truck parking area) at 8:50am to join up with Central Coast members. Depart 9:00am.

Third Meeting Point: Caltex Truckstop, 4949 New England Highway, McDougalls Hill (Near Singleton Heights). 1 hour 30 minutes / 107 kms via Cessnock and Branxton. Arrive 10:30am depart 11:00am.

Arrive Quirindi:  12:45pm and book into motel. (144kms / 1 hour 45 mins from McDougalls Hill).

Whats on: Saturday lunch at the Imperial Hotel Quirindi ($12 roast of the day / $2 desert); Visit The Rail Journeys Museum at Werris Creek (19kms / 15 mins from Quirindi - Gold coin or greater donation) then proceed to the Quirindi Hilltop Lookout with spectacular 360 degree panoramic views of the surrounding countryside before driving on to Bob's Shed for a Tour and a BBQ dinner. Sunday will be a Bacon & Eggs Breakfast at Bob's Shed and then a short drive to the Quirindi Rural Heritage Village  ($5.00 Adults and $1.00 Children) at 10:00am where we will have lunch before departing at 12:30pm. There are also Miniature Train Rides for $2.00 a ride. If we have time on these days we may also visit the First Fleet Memorial Gardens at Wallabadah (No cost for entry).

The cost for Bob's Shed will be $30.00 (adults); $14.50 (children 12 & under) and no charge for children under 5 years. This includes a Tour of Bob's Shed, BBQ dinner on Saturday evening and a Bacon & Egg Breakfast on the Sunday morning. Fantastic value for Club Members!!

Prices: $90 Standard Double Bed room, $104 Queen Bed room, $110 Twin room (Queen bed and a single bed). Prices for Family Rooms are available upon request as they are dependent on the number of people accommodated.

Route: Hume Highway to Goulburn then Braidwood Road to Wakefield Park.

Distance:137 kms / 1 hour 40 minutes

Meeting Point: Southbound Truck Stop, Hume Hwy, Pheasants Nest (40 minutes drive south from Campbelltown exit)

Meeting Time: 9:30am for coffee

Departure Time: 10.00am sharp

Whats on: HSVOC Drive Day. Join in Parade Laps of Wakefield Park after arrival. BYO lunch or purchase at track cafeteria. Watch the track action before the return trip home.

Destination: Bonnets Up Display at SPRING CRUISE-IN, Hunter Valley Gardens, Pokolbin NSW.

Route: Via Sydney/Newcastle Freeway, Route 82 and Broke Road.

Distance: 145 kms / 1 hour 45 minutes.

Meeting Point: Thornleigh McDonalds.

Meeting Time: 7:30am for coffee

Departure Time: 8:00am sharp.

What's On:

The 2013 SPRING CRUIZ-IN is being organised by the Newcastle Restored Vehicle Club.
 
This day will commence mass assembly of approx 600 vehicles on display from 7.00am at the Stockland Glendale Shopping Centre. Then at 9.00 am the largest convoy of Classic, Vintage, Street Machines, Veteran, Hot Rods, Motor Bikes and Commercial vehicles in NSW will set out for the award winning international tourist destination that is the Hunter Valley Gardens at Pokolbin.

However, this will be too early for our Sydney based members, so we will be meeting at Thornleigh McDonalds at 7:30am to depart at 8:00am for the drive directly to the Hunter Valley Gardens, arriving around the same time as the main convoy.

All profits will be donated to ‘ROADWHYZ’   

At SPRING CRUIZ-IN enjoy: DJ Vinnie 1950s 1960s Rock & Roll Music, stalls, face painting, food, and much more. 9.00am until 3pm. Prizes for best selection of vehicles, fantastic raffle prizes. Entry fee $5.00 entitles one Goody Bag per vehicle to be paid after entry to the Hunter Valley Gardens 

Entry forms filled in at the Hunter Valley Gardens on the day.

For anyone wanting the weekend away come and visit LOSTINTHE50’s American Classic Car Museum from 9.30am to 2.30pm at Cameron Park Newcastle on Saturday 19th October 2013.
