Skid Pan Driver Training Day The Basics: When: Sunday 3rd October 2010. Where: Eastern Creek Raceway Skid Pan Cost (Incl GST): First Driver $100.00; Family Member/Partner $90.00; Child under 18 $80.00; Single Event L1 CAMS Licence $25.00 Arrive: 7:30 am and empty your car of everything including spare tyre, umbrellas books etc Licences: RTA Licence or Learners Permit is not required, however drivers must be a minimum of 14 years old. Also, bring your CAMS Licence if you have one. If not, a L1 licence can be purchased on the day (see Entry Form). A multiple event L2 licence can also be purchased on the day - the $95.00 fee will be payable directly to CAMS. Vehicles: Bring your HDT, HSV or family hack! The day is not designed to be hard on your vehicles, however they must be registered and preferably recently serviced. No unregistered vehicles will be permitted. All loose items must be removed from the interior of the car as well as it's boot. Forward facing glass lights need to be taped over. Scrutineering: Starts at 8:00am Prior to the Day: Check your car for fluid levels, oil, brakes, tyres etc Clothing: Wear non-synthetic clothing, comfortable long-sleeved shirt, long pants and enclosed footwear Lunch: Bring your lunch or buy it from the shop at the track. Format for the Day: The day will consist of basic skills, and will cover seating, steering, throttle control, braking, evasive action and numerous practical exercises. 7:30 am: Arrive at Eastern Creek Raceway (entry thorugh Gate 7) and proceed through the tunnel to the Skid Pan on the right, opposite the Medical Centre. Empty your vehicle of all loose objects, then report to Event Secretary for the processing of your entry. 8:00am: Scrutineering. This is a basic roadworthy inspection of your vehicle by instructors as well as a check to ensure all loose items have been removed. 9:00am: Introduction and briefing from Chief Instructor. Introduction of instructors followed by a demoinstration of correct seating position, holding of steering wheel, etc. 9:30am: Exercises begin. 12:30pm: Lunch Break. 4:30pm: Close of the day and debrief.
